The Company Watchou is building a creator-friendly video and stream sharing platform, which seeks to create a direct pipeline from artist to fan. We're combining all of the popular features of your favourite video platforms (YouTube, Twitch, Patreon to name a few) into a single platform. We've already got 200+ people on our waiting list for when the MVP is built, and fully expect that once we do actually start advertising, that this will sky rocket. The Job We're looking for a Backend Developer to help us build out the MVP in the interim, and then move on to delivering features as the platform matures. As it stands today, the team is composed of the CEO, the CTO (me), 1x Front End Developer, 1x Volunteer Back End Developer. As I will be helping out on the front end, we need a 2nd back end dev to help get this product to market quickly. The Skills Required - Node - GraphQL - Git How You'll Work As the Lead Dev/CTO I've recently migrated the company over to Jira. We're working in 2 week sprints via an Agile Methodology. Every 2 weeks we complete sprint planning to start the next sprint, and at the end of the sprint we'll have a Sprint Retro to go over what went well/what went not so well. You'll be picking up tickets throughout the sprint, completing them, slapping them up for a code review/merge request via GitHub, and then moving on to your next task. You'll also be involved with chatting with the team via Discord and collaboration on various ideas that could help the business. Requirements - 1 Year commercial experience minimum (3-5 years is ideal) - Based in either EU or US - Fluent in English - Ability to have phone calls to discuss tickets (we don't expect you to be on this full time, so we'll arrange these around your day job) - Minimum age of 18 - 10 Hours per week minimum commitment (ideal range between 10 - 30 hours).
