About Me- 33, MBA in finance and have been a CFO of a $35M sales company for the past 6 years. Live in Southern California but willing to work somewhat remotely (Limited to USA) during initial stages. I can also provide funding but would want to keep things lean until MVP and traction. Fairly strong seed investment connections but no real VC or PE connections besides some investment bankers I've worked with in my main job About You- Ideally substantial work experience 5-10+ years of development specifically finance related tech work. Need someone to be able to manage and or contract out the appropriate work and check for quality. Ideally keep the initial group to 2-3 people as a MVP is more important than any marketing or biz dev type of people. Not Interested In- No major previous tech work or hobby level work Business or marketing people Sales People The Idea Robinhood revolutionized retail trading opening up stocks to a lot of younger investors who could invest without seeing their investment take an immediate hit via fees. But stocks are just a small part of the overall investment market there are hundreds of other investment products from simple treasury bonds to complicated synthetic debt obligations and futures contracts. Many of those products are extremely complicated with delivery dates, notional values which can leave an investor far more levered then they realize. The Execution Offer retail investors the opportunity to invest directly into certain market segments on a straightforward basis. For example an oil future contract actually represents 1000 barrels of oil so at $50 a barrel price 1 contract costs $50,000. Ideally we could purchase that contract for $50,000 and sell it in pieces by the barrel to our customers. They true notional value investment and we get a simple bid/ask spread. Some trade-able investments I have thought about are Risk Free Government Bills and Strips Bonds Corporate and Gov Commodities- Oil, Gold, Timber, Paladium etc Real Estate- REITS or CDOs Private Equity- VC, PE, HF, Fund of Funds Crypto- Major Coins Exotic Synthetics Currencies If this idea interest you and you fit the bill I would be interested in talking more.
