Have you ever tried to make new friends using an existing app and it didn’t work out? Maybe the groups were inactive, or you weren’t interested in any of the events, or it was hard to find the right age range? My app would be for the purpose of finding people to do things with. Apps exist for this purpose already - Meetup, Bumble bff, etc. But these existing apps have a lot of pain points- mainly, what the user can do is limited to having to join an existing group and doing whatever the group has planned. The user can create their own meetup, but that involves commitment to the event, planning a time and day, etc. I know that at least for me, often times I want to go to an event or do an activity like hiking, and I want to find someone who would want to go, but not necessarily a group or on a certain day. With this app, there would be a way to say something that you want to do and show it to other people in your area, preferred age range, etc. and have them message you if they're also interested. Like the way you would make a post on facebook or instagram- it gets shown to all of your friends and they can reply if they want to. But instead of it being limited to just people you're already friends with, the posts would be shown to anyone else in the area, but there would also be an option to show it to just friends. The focus would be posting something you want to do, instead of just whatever is on your mind, links to articles, etc. It's like Facebook and Meetup combined in a way. Opinions I have gathered show there is a need and interest for this kind of social app. However, since the target audience is everyone over 18, it may be challenging to get enough users at first. I think making an MVP would be great so early testing can be done and see if there’s more interest. I’ve designed the app and built a clickable prototype, but I would need someone to make an MVP because I only know a little bit of coding. If it ever does well, you would receive most of the equity since I would just be the design/idea/marketing person. If this sounds like something anyone would be interested in or would like to see the prototype, let’s talk more! submitted by /u/DragonShad0w [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/otl0l6/usabiz2_seeking_technical_cofounder_to_build_mvp/
