The Pitch: Readefine rewords the internet. You can use it to simplify complex language, learn a new language, or create tooltips on words and phrases across the internet. Users can build their own dictionaries and opt into community dictionaries (for example, I recently created a community dictionary that Readefines Archaic English words into modernized versions). It works as an extension on Chrome, Safari (iOS and MacOS), Firefox, and Edge. Unlike Grammarly, and other writing aids, which attempt to solve communication problems at the source, Readefine solves communication problems for the target audience. About the team: I (Andrew) am a computational linguist and the CEO of Readefine. I've been building Readefine for about a year. I built all aspects of Readefine, including the landing page, the client extensions, a POC Android client, the backend, and the database. Shannon is the COO and has a background in operations and QA.
