Problem According to the National Retail Federation, organized retail theft accounts for an estimated 30 billion dollars in economic loss each year nationwide or, in other words, on average, organized retail crime costs retailers on average 700,000 dollars per 1 billion dollars in sales every year. Generally speaking, the number one retail item targeted for theft is apparel. Solution Product Tracing in logistics is the ability to the ability to trace potentially contaminated product, the consumption of which may cause an adverse health impact, through the supply chain. In this case, Retail Product Tracing is the ability to trace a product in real-time. Think tile for the retail industry. Co-founder I'm seeking a tech co-founder who wants to build out this idea with me. My dad owns retail apparel businesses and he has actually expressed interest in something like this. He's the least tech-abled person I know and if I can get him excited about this, I feel that we may have something. My personal experience includes running operations for my dad's company and co-founding 2 other revenue generating startups. I stopped working for both because 1 co-founder mentioned she had cancer and passed everything to me and I didn't want to do it alone and my other startup co-founder had a huge ego problem when we starting scaling really fast and I couldn't handle it anymore. If you don't like this idea, I'm full of others and open to chatting. submitted by /u/Adetroitthrowaway [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/rqxr7j/usaops15_retail_product_tracing/
