Meanwhile, over 25M homeowners take on expensive credit card debt to pay for basic living expenses, and 40% of homeowners with mortgages said they work two full-time jobs to afford housing costs. Ironically, most homeowners don't know they have access to the very capital they need. We believe there are two main challenges preventing owners from accessing their capital: Transactional friction of secured capital, which drives high costs for customers. Lack of education and real-time data on one’s home, resulting in an inability to make better-informed decisions that build wealth. With the right access and insights, this capital can be leveraged to build meaningful wealth. We are building technology to improve the transactional efficiency of secured lending and to give homeowners access to cheap secured capital at the same level of convenience as expensive unsecured capital. By combining the best of both worlds, we're able to create a home-equity-backed credit card (<10% APR), a HELOC but without all the transactional friction and expensive/lengthy underwriting that comes with it. Additionally, we're providing homeowners with an app that delivers real-time analytics and personalized insights into their homes so they can make and implement better decisions that build wealth. Who are we looking for: A full-stack engineer with experience (ideally) in React/Python/AWS and developing/deploying mobile & web apps. You understand the work required to build a startup and are someone we can depend on as we build this company. You are excited to roll up your sleeves and write code, and you have an interest in building a robust engineering culture. You like to have fun but also work hard and are resourceful. you are low ego and enjoy collaborating on ideas. Location is flexible as long as you are willing to fly out occasionally for meetings. Who we are: We are two friends who live in Los Angeles (my co-founder moved here from France 10 years ago and I was born and raised in LA). We both have always dreamed of being entrepreneurs and started our first venture together 4 years ago in the PropTech/MarTech ecosystem. He has 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, owning an agency that had clients like Lionsgate, Heroes Motors, and many more. I have 6+ years of sales experience and operated our first VC-backed venture as CEO. I'm also a Forbes 30 under 30 lister in the 2021 Marketing & Advertising category.
