Preface: I am located in Ontario Canada and would prefer my cofounder to be the same. About the business idea, the idea is a landlord/property manager and tenant communication service. There are issues with how tenants are communicated with currently in many cases. The issues are related to outdated and ineffective communication methods such as paper and email. Email is effective in a professional setting because we keep up with them however the average person has so much spam in their personal email they will often miss important emails if they were not expecting them. Paper notices in buildings are only somewhat effective as many don't read them or care. One of the main target customers is property managers who often will send emails that result in the above mentioned issue. A chat communication service that allows instant messaging back and forth in the same way everyone is used to in their personal lives would improve tenant satisfaction and communication effectiveness. The eventual idea is a web app and mobile apps which will allow messaging as well as file/photo sharing. I want to add in where say an Ontario property manager can electronically fill out a standard form and send it to the tenant for viewing and/or download. Photos to be shared allowing easier seeing of things like damage or issues in the rental unit. I want to integrate into existing tenant management software to provide a better experience for customers and speed them up in their workflows. So what has been done so far? A marketing website exists (can't share the link because of subreddit rules sorry), the web app MVP is built and tested to work. The cloud infrastructure is built - actually pending some changes but they should be done in a few weeks. My background: I have been building web apps since 2016 and have attempted to start 2 SaaS before this one and failed due to lack of sales. The product was always impressive to people I talked to, both friends/family and randoms online; however, the sales and marketing is my weak spot. I now want to try my third SaaS but know I need to build the product and manage the business while I have someone help with the sales and marketing side of things. I have worked for an AI company in a tech role, I worked for a $1B USD ARR company as an SRE, and am now at a financial company in a tech role where I am guiding the team and taking leadership. I have been in positions before where I led teams back in my cadet days where I took teams to competitions and did well. I also managed multiple teams and a band as the lead for both. I did everything from team-specific work to building up the team members and guiding them to achieve our collective goals.
