Hi, I'm a business-minded software engineer with an existing product currently with no users. I'm seeking a biz dev cofounder to help me take this to market.
The product is a marketing SaaS tool for popular adult content creators to analyze and monetize their Twitter DMs. Popular adult creators use Twitter/IG/Reddit as marketing platforms and they receive literally hundreds to thousands of DMs every single day. They obviously don't read all of the messages, these are warm leads and a missed revenue opportunity for them.
I already built the MVP. I also had a meeting with the largest/most premier adult content creator management agency in the world and they showed interest but requested a slight pivot which I didn't end up implementing. I also reached out to hundreds of adult content creators and had discussions with about 10, but I couldn't convert them to users. It's a tough problem because by definition my market are people who are receiving a high volume of inbound requests for communication that they ignore, so they are really hard to get a hold of. I'm hoping you can help me crack that problem.
The reason I didn't continue with the project is that I work full time as a SWE and I have other businesses that I run so this project in particular unfortunately got placed on the back burner. I still think there is a market need for this and I'm looking for someone to pick up going to market where I left off.
I'm looking for someone US-based who has experience with taking products to market, customer acquisition, sales, growth hacking, etc. I love working with creative people who have grit, hustle and the experience to make shit happen. I like chill and easygoing people that work hard but also like to have fun. I don't take myself too seriously and I'm sociable and friendly, I'm looking for someone who also checks those boxes. Making money is great but if we aren't also enjoying ourselves then it won't be worth it to me.
A bit more about me: I'm 29 years old, currently based in San Diego where I'm from. I'm a software engineer with 8 years of full time experience. I've tried and failed many software companies, the most successful of which was a real estate escrow company that managed several million in real estate escrow funds in its first year. I run a small software consultancy on the side and I am also a real estate investor currently working on flip deals and I manage a small family RE portfolio. If you have big ideas across a variety of industries and love chatting about any kind of business, we'll get along!
I'd love for someone to be close by in Southern California but that's not a blocker.
This is an equity-only role as obviously the project isn't generating any revenue at the moment. The actual amount of equity compensation will depend on whoever I find but I'm not here to be stingy or take advantage of people. I WANT to find someone to be an equal 50/50 partner with me, even though I already build the MVP and did some market validation. I'm not interested in being greedy, my highest priority is giving this product its greatest chance of success and if I find the right person to do that with then I'll gladly bring them on as an equal partner.
If you're interested at all and your background fits the role, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you!
