How to watch the 2024 People’s Choice Awards live without cable, including free options

For the first time since 1996, the people will have a voice during the peak of awards season. The People’s Choice Awards—which typically take place in the fall—will happen on Sunday, February 18, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

This event celebrates America’s favorite entertainers and is voted on by fans online. Cassandra Tryon, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming senior vice president, loves the democratic nature of the event. “The mission of the People’s Choice Awards continues to be about giving a voice to those whose opinions matter most—the people,” she said in a statement. It is the only place where Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour movie and Oppenheimer will go head to head.Beyond the popular vote, there are many reasons to tune in. Country singer Lainey Wilson and pop singer Kylie Minogue are scheduled to perform. Wilson is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Female Country Artist of the Year.Lenny Kravitz is also performing and will be honored with the Music Icon Award. “Lenny’s musical gift is truly unmatched,” gushed Jen Neal, an executive vice president for NBCUniversal Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to honor him as this year’s Music Icon and look forward to seeing what he brings to the stage.”

Adam Sandler will also be honored for his contributions to comedy with the People’s Icon Award. Sandler got his big break on Saturday Night Live and would go on to create memorable characters such as Billy Madison and Bobby Boucher. In recent years, he has also expanded to dramatic works. Don’t sleep on Uncut Gems and Hustle.Barbie’s Simu Liu is going to bring the Kenergy to the ceremony, serving as the host. “It’s exciting to celebrate this incredible year in pop culture, and to do so with the incredible fans that make what we do possible,” he stated to NBC News.

Traditional cable subscribers can catch the 2024 People’s Choice Awards ceremony at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC and E!.

Cord-cutters can stream the broadcast on Peacock or a live-TV streaming service that includes NBC or E! as part of a bundle. Those include Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and Sling TV. YouTube and Sling offer free trials for new users. Finally, you can also catch the ceremony for free with an over-the-air antenna if you can get reception.
