Remember the Windows 11 24H2 update from earlier this month? The first one of the year, which continued last year’s trend of 24H2 updates wreaking havoc for end users? Well, the big issue caused by that one seems to have been addressed — for testers, anyway.
Yesterday, Microsoft released a preview of update KB5050094, a cumulative Windows 11 24H2 update that has over two dozen bug fixes and small changes, including a fix for the high-profile USB audio bug that arose from this month’s earlier KB5050009 update.
Spotted by BleepingComputer, this cumulative update also addresses several other issues, like USB cameras not being recognized, distorted screenshots taken by the Snipping Tool, errors with Remote Desktop Gateway, and a problem with cumulative updates not installing properly after a feature fails to install.
If you want these fixes, you’ll need to install update KB5050094 manually. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and locating the update in the Optional updates available section. Alternatively, you can download the update directly from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
