Editing photos on your iPhone has never been easier. With the full power of Photoshop now at your fingertips, you can edit pictures on the go, transforming your snapshots into works of art.
The image-editing tool professional creatives have loved over the past three decades is finally available on our smartphones, opening up professional-level photo editing to all. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new wave of creatives who favor using their phones for image editing to get access to even better tools. Essential features such as layering, masking, and blending are now a tap away, allowing you to quickly edit and enhance your images, right on your iPhone.
The Photoshop app from Adobe is free to download on iPhone, with its core photo-editing features available at no cost–although subscribing will put even more exciting optimization tools at your disposal.

Adobe
AI takes away the learning curve
It’s not just regular Photoshop tools that are now available to all, but also Adobe’s Firefly-powered AI tools, including Generative Fill and Generative Expand.
Say you take a photo, and you need it in a different size or shape. Now, you can just use the app to expand the photo to match the ratio you need. Instead of getting a distorted picture, AI will fill in the missing area for you.
The Generative Fill feature is similarly magical, letting you add elements to a picture–whether that’s swapping out a bleak background or adding dragons in the sky.
More free features in the Photoshop app include a quick Tap Select Tool for removing objects and swapping colors, and a Spot Healing Brush that can remove unwanted elements from your photos.
Meet the Photoshop Mobile & Web subscription
While the app is free on iPhone, there are benefits to signing up to the Photoshop Mobile & Web plan. This $7.99 monthly or $69.99 annual subscription lets you access more powerful editing tools on your phone and on the web.
Synced workflows between the mobile and online versions make it easy to start a project on your iPhone, then add the finishing touches on your computer.
You’ll find additional AI tools online, too–for example, Generate Similar, which creates multiple variations of an image, and Reference Image, which helps you create pictures to match the style, colors, or aesthetic of another image, are available only in the online versoin. The Magic Wand and the Content-Aware Fill make it simpler to isolate and adjust image elements, too.

Adobe
This premium plan suits professionals and hobbyists alike, offering full access to Photoshop for iPhone, iPad, and Photoshop Web, along with 100GB storage and 100 generative AI credits per month.
This is just the beginning, as more features are added over time–including an Android version of the Photoshop app, which is expected to arrive later this year.
