Epic Games Store has officially started its annual winter sale — and as in previous years, Epic will also be giving away several PC games for free during this winter sale.
While Epic hasn’t revealed anything about which games are being given away just yet, in total there will be 16 games. And if they’re anything like the games given away before, we’re pretty excited to see what’s in store. In past years, we’ve seen everything from acclaimed indie games to bigger AAA games, like Control and Death Stranding.
The first game being given away for free is The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which has already been marked down on the Epic Games Store and will stay that way until 8 AM on December 19. Then, more new games will be given away daily. All that’s needed to take part is a free Epic Games Store account.
The Epic Games Store winter sale itself will run until 11 AM on January 9, 2025. Ten percent of all your purchases made during the holiday sale go towards the Epic Rewards program, which you can use to discount future game purchases. (Normally, the Epic Rewards program only gives back five percent per game purchase.)
