If you’re hunting for a good deal on a new OLED monitor, then I suggest waiting for big sales events like Black Friday. But if you can’t wait that long, this refurbished deal on Woot might be a good alternative. Right now, you can snag an MSI 34-inch ultrawide OLED gaming monitor for just $569.99, which is over $300 off its retail price.
The MPG 341CQPX hits a lot of the same notes as similar ultrawide gaming OLED panels, including a semi-standard 3440×1440 resolution and a faster-than-usual 240Hz refresh rate. It also packs some extra features that are hard to find in this price range, like USB-C video support with 98 watts of power delivery for gaming monitors. It earned an Editors’ Choice award in our PCWorld review, which you can read here.
Woot’s deal is for a refurb model. Normally I’m all for refurbished sales, but a refurbished OLED might give me pause, especially since the warranty is only 180 days. That’s one-sixth the length of MSI’s 3-year burn-in warranty on new models. If you’re nervous, you might spring for an Asurion 2-year plan, which is going for $50 on Amazon with better accident protection. You might also use the savings to get a better VESA monitor arm, since the chunky included stand was one of the few low points in our review of this monitor.
Woot will have this OLED monitor available for 9 more days or until stock runs out. Considering how popular (relatively) cheap OLED monitors are getting, I wouldn’t expect it to stick around for too long.
