Show HN: Making AR experiences is still painful – had to make my own editor

Hey HN!

My co-founder and I have spent over a decade building mixed reality projects and have been growing more and more frustrated with the process. From the number of tools needed, to client sign-off, to the complex esoteric tech stacks. And especially how slow the iteration loop is when dealing with interactivity and UX.

Two years ago we decided to stop whining and fix the fundamental issues. Ordinary Objects [0] was built with our core needs for AR prototyping: a very tight iteration

In the early 2000s to the mid-oughts, every designer I knew wanted to be featured on the FWA, a showcase for cutting-edge web design. While many of the earlier sites were Flash-based, it’s also where I discovered the first uses of parallax, Paper.js, and Three.js. Back then, websites were meant to be explored and their interfaces discovered. https://webdesignernews.com/web-designs-next-evolution/

How Programming Will Look In the Future?

Programming hasn’t fundamentally changed since the 1940s. Most languages still follow the von Neumann paradigm: write sequential instructions and modify data in memory. Let’s look at a simple example https://webdesignernews.com/how-programming-will-look-in-the-future/

Making a live-mode test payment to yourself = a payment processor ToS violation?

To me it seemed like common sense that before you push the thing into the real world, no matter how much testing you do, you'd fire a couple test payments on the live version.

I’m not sure if it actually _saves_ time or clicks (though, for me, it saves at least one click per search), but I find the search experience more pleasant. On desktop, it’s nice to just have these search bars as the first thing that pops up in a new window or tab vs clicking bookmarks in the toolbar or elsewhere then searching. Similarly, on mobile, I like just clicking on one icon for all my searches. The vast maj
