This study begins with expositions of Mooreâs common sense realism and his philosophy of sense data which raise certain questions regarding the relevance and compatibility of these two philosoj relative to Mooreâs main goal. Moo analysis of knowledge and its implication have also been discussed at length. Since Mooreâs major views in the area of ethics also reveal that his main interest has always been to investigate the epistemological aspect of the problem, Dr Sarkar presents a critical exposition of the central issues of Mooreâs ethics including his views on the logical nature of fundamental ethical concepts and those on the meaning of ethical statements. Further she also points out the epistemological aspects of these views and evaluates them critically in the background of his basic epistemological standpoint. In addition, Dr Sarkarâs work brings out clearly Mooreâs views about skepticism and deals with his answers to the skeptics. This volume should prove to be extremely useful to students and teachers of philosophy and could possibly be used as a text-cum-reference book at the postgraduate level.
