HISTORY ASPECTS:The Bristol F2B Fighter was a British two-seat biplane fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the First World War. It was designed by Frank Barnwell and first flew in September 1916. It quickly became one of the most important aircraft of the war and was used by the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and later the Royal Air Force (RAF) in a variety of roles including as a fighter bomber and reconnaissance aircraft.11 Squadron RAF was a squadron of the RAF that flew the Bristol F2B during World War I. The squadron was formed in 1915 and was initially equipped with the Royal Aircraft Factory BE2c before transitioning to the Bristol F2B in 1917. The squadron operated the F2B in various roles including as a fighter bomber and reconnaissance aircraft.The Bristol F2B was also used in other conflicts including in the Middle East during the Arab Revolt and in Russia during the Russian Civil War.
