HISTORY ASPECTS:The Aichi B7A2 Ryusei codenamed "Grace" by the Allies was a unique and advanced torpedo and dive bomber operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service during the later stages of World War II. Introduced in 1944 the Ryusei played a role in the conflicts final chapters attempting to counter the increasingly challenging Allied naval and air supremacy.The aircraft was part of the Kougeki 5th Hikotai assigned to the 752nd Kokutai. It faced its baptism of fire in the intense air battles and naval engagements of the Pacific Theater in 1945. The Ryusei was distinctive for its innovative design featuring a sleek fuselage retractable landing gear and a powerful engine which provided it with good speed and agility for a bomber of its size.
