Qualcomm has turned lots of heads with its Snapdragon X-powered laptops, which have amazing battery life and fewer issues than older Windows-on-Arm attempts. But buyers tend to balk at the compromises when the price gets too high. Not anymore! Have a gander at the Asus Vivobook S 15, which Best Buy is selling for just $599.99 today. That’s almost half off the original $1,100 price!
The Vivobook S15 is a little dull, but it’s rocking a vibrant 15.6-inch OLED screen, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 70-watt-hour battery that’ll outlast anything with an AMD or Intel chip. Our reviewer Matt Smith also liked the spacious touchpad and keyboard, which comes with a dedicated number pad — not a given in laptops this size. You can read his full review here, but note the review unit used a slightly faster Snapdragon X Elite CPU. (The one on sale has a Snapdragon X Plus.)
Other highlights include plenty of ports (including full-sized HDMI) and a boosted 2880×1800 resolution, which should make streaming video pop. But the screen isn’t touch-enabled, and be aware that Snapdragon laptops tend to choke on high-end 3D games.
We’ve seen this deal from Best Buy before, but steeply discounted laptops are flying off shelves lately. If you’ve been waiting for a deal on a long-lasting Snapdragon X laptop, I’d snap this one up quickly.
