I’m not somebody who believes in EMH and that it’s impossible to beat the market. But I do think you typically need a differentiated view (variant perception) and probably a mix of stocks that aren’t predominantly top 10 holdings in the index. It’s odd there is so little discussion here of small caps for a stock picking forum, IMO.
So many posts I see here are a mix of Tesla, Amazon and Google, or similar. Do people think holding these stocks in some magi
It looks to me like it bottomed or is close to it. I know it wont shoot up fast or anything but I can see it going back up to 100 within a few years. So you're looking at a nice 8%+ per year. It's very unlikely it could fall even more than 85 because the last time it was this low was 2014. Disney has grown much more in that time. Disney has also had a history of very good management, it will bounce back. I'm probably gonna park a little bit in it and
Hi, there. I was wondering what the effects of the bankruptcy of Evergrande is going to be on the stockmarket. Does anyone have an idea what the likely exposure is from western insitutions? What is China likely going to do?
I invested in meme stocks and traded options, now I down almost 100,000 dollars. I am 35 years old and I only have 55,000 dollars left to my name. I hope you guys are smarter than me and don't make stupid decisions. You won't get lucky. Invest in index funds and slowly keep accumulating wealth. This is not a get rich quick scheme.
Years and years of saving straight down the toilet. I watch tickers all day long and stress over the tiniest moves in
This is the daily discussion, so anything stocks related is fine, but the theme for today is on fundamentals, but if fundamentals aren't your thing then just ignore the theme and/or post your arguments against fundamentals here and not in the current post.

Does anyone think Hawaii Electric will get bought out or does it sink completely? It really looks like it could be a big target take over in the future by PG & E. I'm speculating. Hawaii Electric is gonna face massive lawsuits in the future and will need cash in the future lawsuits and rebuilding. Thoughts please.
Hello, I am new to trading.
I have a put on PLTR @ 14.5 which expired today. It is in the money as the stock is currently at 14.1, the put is up 230% but the market has closed and I did not sell, according to Webull they will close the position and I should make my money but they have given me a warning that I do not have enough equity to close the trade? How much would I need to deposit (I can max put in $200USD) and why hasn’t Webull exercised the put?
I have a 100% S&P500 portfolio.
Due to Italian strange tax regulations, I won’t pay any taxes on capital gain on stocks for the next 3 years.
Since I will pay every single order, I do not want to pick many different stocks, but 2 or 3, to sell in the next 3 year.
Since I already have SeP500, I would like to pick a UE Stock.
Since I am a booglehead, I don’t know how to pick single stocks and I would be happy to hear your advices.
As a shareholder, I'm trying to determine if a spinoff would affect me positively or negatively? Would there be a sharp increase or decrease in the stock price if announce/executed?
Thanks for any input! Obviously you can't predict outcomes, but what would be likely to occur?
Cheers!
I've always traded major companies and normally hear news hours after. Which is sometimes too late when trying to day trade.
Been wanting to play with penny stocks, but finding proper current news/details is even more limited.
Often see people posting stuff here well before I can find it in the news, so just wondering what I'm missing.
