GE Lighting is looking to branch out in the coming year, with the Savant-owned brand taking its first steps into the professionally installed smart-shade business.
Following their debut back in September during the CEDIA 2024 conference, GE’s Proseo lights and shades are taking another bow at CES alongside GE Lighting’s new café lights, dimmer switches, and outdoor light strips.
Meanwhile, GE Lighting parent Savant is debuting its own smart system aimed at helping consumers keep a lid on their energy bills.
GE Proseo smart lights and shades
While it’s an old hand at traditional smart lights and switches, GE Lighting had yet to wade into the smart shade market until now, with the brand showing off its new Proseo line of products at CES.
Designed for professional installers, GE Lighting’s Proseo range consists of various smart shades, keypads, and panelized lights, all of which are compatible with the brand’s Cync app and smart lights.
The shades will offer “modern” design touches, “performance” fabrics, and “unmatched” control interface options, GE Lighting says, along with hardware that will keep wires and screws discretely hidden.
A Proseo starter kit that includes a switch will cost $99, while Proseo switches will be sold separately at prices ranging from $30 to $60. The made-to-fit Proseo shades will be priced individually for each installation.
Café lights and outdoor light strips
Back in more familiar territory, GE Lighting is unwrapping new café lights at CES.
The Cync Dynamic Effects Café Lights arrive with music-syncing abilities, individually controllable color segments, and “reinforced” eyeholes that allow the lights to be hung from ropes, wires, or hooks.
Available in 24- and 48-foot lengths, the Cync Dynamic Effects Café Lights will go on sale in March for $39.99 and $69.99, respectively.

Savant
Coming in April are the Cync Dynamic Effects Outdoor Light Strips, which promise a “thinner, more flexible” design while sharing the music-syncing capabilities of the café lights.
A 16-foot version of the Dynamic Effects Outdoor Light Strip will retail for $79.99, while the 32-foot strip will cost $129.99.
Keypad and paddle dimmers
GE Lighting is teeing up new dimmer switches, with the Smart Keypad Dimmer and Smart Paddle Dimmer set to land in March.
The keypad dimmer ($44.99) boasts a pair of programmable buttons that can trigger light scenes and control groups of lights, while the paddle dimmer ($25.99) lets you fine-tune the brightness using a side slider.

Savant
Later this year, GE Lighting will roll out revamped versions of its existing smart switches, complete with traveler wires for three-way connectivity without the need for Wi-Fi. The Matter-enabled switches will also be able to control the power for an entire circuit.
Home energy monitoring
Finally, GE Lighting parent Savant is serving up a professionally installed power-monitoring system designed to help homeowners cut down on energy costs.
Slated to arrive in the second quarter of 2025, the Savant Smart Budget package tracks and controls your power usage via a series of modules installed in your home’s electrical panel.

Savant
The Savant app will regulate the panel’s power output, allowing you to prioritize your energy usage, shed unneeded power loads, and balance your power consumption.
Available through professional installation channels, the Savant Smart Budget systems sells for $1,500 and up.
