Yesterday, Microsoft announced that the Xbox app has been made available on select LG smart TVs. Through the Xbox app, you can take advantage of Xbox Cloud Gaming, which lets you stream hundreds of Xbox games without needing an Xbox console.
All you need to stream Xbox games on your LG smart TV is an Xbox controller with Bluetooth support, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and an LG smart TV that supports the Xbox app.

The Xbox app will work on LG’s OLED TVs from 2022, select smart TVs from 2023, and other LG displays running webOS 24 or later. Microsoft has posted a detailed list on this support page.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is surprisingly good. It’s one of the best cloud gaming services right now, and it’s a good deal with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costing $20 per month for cloud access to almost 400 games, plus day-one access to select new releases.
Microsoft has been pushing to boost Xbox Game Pass adoption over the years, and making it accessible on LG’s smart TVs is just one step in a strategy that’s been unfolding. The Xbox app was previously released on Samsung TVs in 2022, then on Fire TVs last year.
