Micron’s microscopic NVMe SSD packs 2TB of lightning-quick storage

It may be incredibly small, but Micron’s new 2400 SSD is still capable of packing up to 2TB of storage and PCIe 4.0, the company said Tuesday.

Micron said the teeny-tiny SSD (the smallest one above) measures 22mm x 30mm but is still capable of hitting 2TB of capacity and decent performance thanks to the company’s new 176-layer QLC NAND. Micron calls its 176-layer ultra dense NAND an “unprecedented” development for PC storage for not only decreasing the physical space

PCIe 6.0 revealed: Blazing-fast speeds will supercharge next-gen SSDs

Proving that whenever you buy something new, a better thing immediately comes out, the PCI-Sig Group announced the release of PCIe 6.0 on Tuesday, which will double the raw data rates of the PCIe 5.0 technology that only just debuted in Intel’s 12th-gen ‘Alder Lake’ Core processors.

PCI-SIG, the group that oversees the specification, said PCIe 6.0 will support 64 Giga Transfers per second, which equals about 256GB/s over a 16 lane configuration. To reach that blistering sp

‘UltraRAM’ breakthrough could merge storage and RAM into one component

“What’s the difference between memory and storage?” It’s a computer question everybody asks at least once in their life. And if you’re the “computer person” in your family, maybe you’ve answered it a whole lot more. But with most standard computer storage shifting to ultra-fast SSDs so similar to flash memory that it’s kind of hard to tell them apart at a glance, the question is becoming a lot more relevant. Surprise! Nvidia’s 12GB GeForce RTX 3080 packs more memory and a bigger GPU

Nvidia only just revealed the GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3090 Ti during its CES 2022 keynote last week, but that wasn’t all the company had up its sleeve. The 10GB of VRAM on the original RTX 3080 felt somewhat lacking right out of the gate, as games like Doom already chew up immense amounts of memory wit
