I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Mosaic Company (MOS) is a fertilizer producer specializing in potash. They have seen a great run in the past year, but I don't believe it's over. US recently imposed sanctions on Belarus who is a huge exporter of potash (13 million tons/yr), projected demand in coming years is 44 million tons; tl;dr huge exporter of potash is going to be cut off China recently stopped exporting potash, and they provide a large chunk through exports Potash prices are at a 13 year high Producers (MOS) can afford to charge more for their product, as agriculture pricing relating to supply/ demand is inelastic Ridiculous call volume for far OTM contracts in March just after feb earnings (currently trading $39; 90k calls at $50, and 80k more at $60) Solid chart https://www.tradingview.com/x/8of8G0jF/ Feel free to poke holes in my thesis. https://www.statista.com/statistics/439006/total-demand-for-potash-fertilizer-worldwide-prediction/ https://www.wisfarmer.com/story/news/2021/09/28/china-halts-phosphate-exports-fertilizer-prices-expected-soar/5907300001/ https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy0512 submitted by /u/DonkeyKong27 [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/rn37gc/opportunity_in_agriculture/
