My(33M) wife(29F) and I are planning for an early retirement. I've been learning as much as I can for the last few years about investing. We both max our 401ks IRAs and HSAs. We don't have any debt outside the house.
I have an empty brokerage account I'm in a position to start funding regularly. I'd like this account to help fund an early retirement until our retirement accounts kick in (55 to 59 hopefully). I have been stuck on how to allocate funds going forward to maximize our income when retired.
I have heard a million times low cost index and chill, but am worried about the tax implications from now until retirement (is this a valid concern?). I would love to use dividends to fund my retirement, but stuck on how to allocate to maximize dividends in 20 years. I also have some exposure in muni bonds (MYD) and know they are fed tax free. We live in a no-income tax state, and the idea of tax free dividends is awesome.
TLDR: How do I invest my brokerage account to fund early/retirement?
