Dollar Tree (DLTR) has been in the neighborhood my parents have lived in for about 20 years. What was thought of as a place to just get birthday cards and balloons soon became in 2008/2009 when mom lost her job as the place to get kitchen supplies, candy and cleaning supplies. They even sell brooms and mops back in the day for $1. Those mops and brooms are still around. When I went off to the dorm room to start 4 years on campus my mom stopped at none other than Dollar Tree and we got some small glass cups with hanldes that I still use to this day regularly. Those glass cups are restaurant quality and have never cracked or shattered when dropped on the ground. In fact I did an online search just now and very similar glasses are sold to this day: https://www.dollartree.com/glass-sports-mugs-with-handles-16oz/252978 and yeah they raised the price from $1 to $1.25 a piece. This was over a decade ago. I love Dollar Tree and the one in my small city is always packed, as is the one I go to monthly in the bigger city 25 miles away.
My point with this short real life story about DLTR is that whenever you need to save money and not pay $12 for a broom or $18 for each glass (the going rate at what I just found out doing an average of similar glass cups from higher end stores). We are in tough times right now in this market and economy. I am working more hours, as is everyone else I know, and even working 70-80 hours on average a week I barely have enough to break even because cost of living is high. Used to have $800 leftover each month now am lucky to have $200 leftover, working full time, with overtime because as they have said the rent is too damn high.
Enough about my personal story, I will say DLTR is like with me going to come in handy for many people as our market (most likely) slips. They should be trading above $150 and them being around $115 is a bargain just like their store's goods. https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=DLTR&p=d
