Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service is a great way to play PC games on platforms that can’t support them. But you can’t get all the bells and whistles of the PC gaming experience — mods are pretty hard to implement on those remote streaming machines.
Nvidia and developer Larian Studios have been working on it, though, and at least some Baldur’s Gate III mods now work on the service. That’s according to a post on Nvidia’s official blog, which announced that “a range of curated mods” are available for the smash-hit role playing game, implemented through the official in-game system. I would expect “curated” to mean “heavily edited” in this context. Some popular D&D subclass and species additions might make the list, but your Daisy Duke cutoff jeans for Shadowheart probably won’t.
Sadly, the upgraded BGIII experience is reserved for those subscribed to GeForce Now’s Performance and Ultimate tiers — and those are getting harder to find at the moment.
As usual, GeForce Now continues to add new games to its ever-expanding lineup, including the popular new Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel and the Xbox Game Pass version of Among Us.
