You can now lease a Tesla Cybertruck for $999 a month

Tesla is offering the option to lease its attention-grabbing, sharp-angled Cybertruck, with prices starting at $999 a month.

U.S. consumers who put down $7,500 have the option to lease an All-Wheel Drive version car for three years under that monthly payment, according to the company’s website. That same model can be purchased in cash for $79,990.

Its higher-end Cyberbeast model is available starting at $1,204 a month for three years with that same down payment. The option to lease the vehicle is likely an attempt to boost demand.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk first unveiled the polarizing electric pickup truck in 2019. But it didn’t start shipping orders to the public until last November, where it was met with fascination and a score of memes.

Tesla hasn’t revealed how many of the vehicles its delivering on a quarterly basis, but told investors last month that it was the third best-selling EV in the U.S. in the past quarter. Musk said in June the company was producing a peak of 1,300 Cybertrucks a week, according to the industry site Electrek.
