[EU][BIZ][25] Looking for a driven hands-on Backend Engineer with senior-level skills to join our launch team in our effort to change how consumers access mortgages in Europe.

Would you be interested to take on a senior leadership position at a company seeking to make the mortgage process easier, more transparent, and less time-consuming? We are replacing the outdated, paper-driven mortgage onboarding model to make the process safer and simpler for borrowers, brokers, and banks. ABOUT US I spent 10 years of my career creating and managing JV real estate investment deals and 15 years founding, leading, and exiting tech ventures. I am based in the Bay Area and have teamed up with one of the top UX/UI leads in Europe (Prague) as co-founder, as well as a strong frontend developer to build the framework of a digital onboarding tool. Our SAAS product allows our clients (brokers) to work with 12x more clients, provide a much more simplified and safer service, and help them generate more revenue at less cost as a result. We have created all frontend designs, built our core architecture, and began coding. Unfortunately, we recently lost our co-founding backend developer due to a family tragedy, and we are looking for a replacement to pick up where he left off (suggest changes as you see fit!) and help us bring our MVP to market to service clients waiting for the product to go live. WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR? A talented, experienced developer/leader looking to make their mark on the world, ready to commit their years of experience to a role with much responsibility and freedom to build the world they want to see, leading the tech side of the founding team in an early-stage startup. This role is for someone who wants control over the work they're doing and the direction the company is going in, and ultimately, the future they're building. This is a role where your hands are on the steering wheel just as much as ours. Although you're a talented engineer, you're here to think and problem solve and steer as a stakeholder as well. The ideal technical partner will be an architect, a developer, a thinker, a researcher, a tester, and a tinkerer. You’re able to be a hands-on developer, highly skilled in configuring and developing in AWS, PostgreSQL, NodeJS, and Python, and you have the ability to equally shine as a leader of others as we grow the company. This role may initially be a side gig or a core role for someone, though there is a lot of work to be done in a short period of time. This work is remote and can be done from anywhere (though we tend to focus on US/European time zones.) Compensation can be standard payment + equity for the right person.
