I am an experienced Supply Chain/Manufacturing Manager with experience building and buying everything from Missile Guidance Systems to T-Shirts. I am looking for a web developer to help me create a site that will allow Fan Artists to monetize their work and Content Creators/Copyright Holders to get a ton of new merchandise designs with no upfront payment or work on their part.. CC=Content Creator/Copyright Holder Problem: "Fan Art" cannot currently be monetized by any party. It falls under the category of "Derivative Work" which means the CC cannot monetize it because they are not the creator of the work, and the Fan Artist cannot monetize it because they do not own the merchandising rights to the subject. Business Solution: Create a marketplace site where; Fan Artists will be able to submit designs directly to the CC, CC's will then be able to approve/Deny the design, we will then manufacture the design as orders are received and split the revenue between the associated parties. Pricing Example: T-Shirt: Sale Price($25) - Production Cost($13) = Profit($12), Profit Split (CC = 75% = $9), (Fan Artist = 25% = $3) Basic Features: These are the features I believe are necessary for the MVP. I have more features that I believe would synergize well but this is what is needed to start. The ability for Fan Artists to create and edit their designs on digital models of our merchandise. The ability for the CC to easily view and approve/deny designs that their fans have submitted. A system for recording what has been sold each month and splitting the revenue between the associated parties. We will receive a fixed cost per item, the CC and Fan Artist will split the remaining portion based off the sale price and split percentage set by the CC. The percentage will be variable to allow CC's to increase/decrease the % they give to their Fan Artists to attract more designs as needed. Ability to convey the orders to a manufacturing team as they are received. Manufacturing team will need; Design #, Product Type, Shipping Method, and Ship to Location. Market: I believe the best market to start with would be online Content Creators; Youtubers, Live Streamers, Bloggers, etc... These people are familiar with the "Print on Demand" merchandising business and have audiences that are already creating this work for free. We would eventually expand into anyone that owns a copyright or has fans that would create art about them or their work. Benefits: Variety: The CC can approve 1,000 different designs if they want. They can have different designs for every holiday, they can run special events and competitions, they can do crossovers with other creators, the only limit is the creativity of themselves and their fan base. No Risk: There is 0 financial risk to the CC or Fan Artist. Everything is made to order so if the design doesn’t sell they don’t owe anything to us or the artist. No Effort: The only thing the CC has to do is approve the designs. Responsiveness: We can go from the artist submitting the design to manufacturing the merchandise in 48hrs. Community Engagement: Fan made designs allow the community to participate and engage with the CC's content in a way that they were not able to before. Flexibility: If the CC has their own designs that they want available we can manufacture those as well and they will receive 100% of the profit. If you are interested or want to no more about me I will gladly set up a call with you or give you my LinkedIn ID. I have already priced all the equipment and materials and mapped out the manufacturing process. I can walk you through the idea or provide any additional information you may need. Yes I know Redbubble is doing something similar to this but they are focusing on massive brands; Disney, Marvel, etc... Our market would be small Content Creators that are currently not being targeted by Redbubble. submitted by /u/Lootlizard [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/mzdgd8/usaflbiz7_experienced_supply_chain_manager/
