In every single case of a post or comment removal you will get a message sent to you explaining why. This message will explicitly tell you NOT to message the mods asking for help, and explain that doing so is against the rules because the automation system has detected that what you did was bad. This does not stop a lot of people, every day, messaging me and complaining about the post they made being removed, even though they were explicitly told not to do it in the message that explains why the post was removed. Simply put, If your post is removed by the bot then its because you did not read and follow all the rules. In my experience as the moderator of this and other groups for over several decades, Any other claim by any user who says otherwise is usually just them setting an example of willful ignorance or them trying to troll. But I'm not against the idea of the automation having defects that need fixed; and I'm open to people telling me if they think there is a defect in the automation keeping them from posting; So I'm explicitly saying it again: if you find a defect, notify the mods as soon as you can with the details. It's ok. However, nobody has been able to show a bug in the system in over a year. Yes, bugs did exist, but they got fixed when people came to me and gave me the data and did not let their ego get in the way. It was a long 2020. That's how you prove the automation wrong, and get flair for helping. Most people won't let go of their ego enough to help, however, most just want to complain or get a special exception to the rules we can not give them because it would not be fair to others. When people contact me - every day - it is always the case that the rules explicitly spell out what the problem is; In every single case of the past year when somebody has contacted me, in every single case I can look at the post/comment they reference and see what the issue is within a few seconds, and I know based on the code that I wrote that they know as well, because I know they got sent a message explaining why, and they just want to play stupid and pretend ignorance because they think they can weasel out of having to follow the rules if they rules lawyer with the mods to magically allow it. Nope. I do not generally handle this attempt to maliciously lie to me very well, as I personally consider it an attack on this community when its attempted, and that is why I have a habit of banning or ignoring the trolls that try this. I also do not have the power to override the automation for just you, by design, because I wanted it to treat everybody as equals to be fair. The people who have contacted the mods can attest to this; I'm not nice when I know they are lying to me. But I am also big on being fair. So if you are reading this because the automation deleted your post, I fully, 100% believe that if you read both the rules links in the sidebar you will be able to understand your issue and post if you follow the rules. My thinking when I hear a persons post was deleted is pretty simple and data driven: "Others can post easily, so clearly the problem is you and how you posted, you must not have followed the rules..if you do not want to follow the rules, go away, otherwise, welcome, and I hope you have a good day." Starting a company is hard. But you can't be a success unless your willing to take responsibility for yourself and being a good member of the greater business community by being willing to invest yourself in understanding the obligations you have as a member in addition to all the perks that success brings. This means you must do your due diligence. This is an intentional gate, an intentional barrier, that I intentionally created. Unless you are willing to take personal responsibility for yourself, and do due diligence, its going to be almost impossible for you to post. So read the rules, and follow them carefully. Also, Hundreds of other people have not have the issues you have, and they are posting fine after reading and following the rules. Maybe they read the rules? Maybe they understood what they did wrong because they looked at the message the bot sent them and did what it said to do like a responsible full member of the community that shows by their actions that they have good intentions? Maybe they never contacted the mods because they knew what they did wrong, and read the rules, and knew trying to rules lawyer with the mods would be a dead end? Maybe you are just posting stuff we do not want here, as is often the case for the crypto and medical scams that get deleted automatically, by design. I could honestly look at every single complaint like this, and see the cause of the miscommunication, and explain what to do... but I choose not to, intentionally, because I see that this is clearly spelled out in the rules and so I expect people to read the rules, and follow them, not waste my time explaining to over 20,000 individual people what they are. My job is not to teach people how to avoid the rules or get around the automation; My job is to protect and grow this community, and I cant do that if I am constantly explaining the rules for the lazy people who don't want to read 2 pages of data. Reading the rules is the tax to be able to post. Can the rules be made more clear? Then say so. Maybe its a defect I can fix, but being egotistical and begging for an exception will get you ignored. Simply put, this process, as bad as it may feel for you, is intentionally work heavy on the part of the user because we want to make sure that people are invested in the post and are not simply spamming; So if your post was removed, read the rules in the sidebar and remember that you need to be focused, present data, and not be unfocused. Tips: Read the rules in full. Read the rules in full again. Read the rules in full a third time. If you honestly think there is a defect in the automation, say so, but you are also probably wrong. Make sure your posts title is focused and follows the format and does not use banned words. submitted by /u/honestduane [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/nogixy/meta_why_the_automation_removes_posts/
