I'm working full-time on a marketplace website for discounted local services, starting with London. We're also lending to these businesses in our marketplace later this year. Progress / Tractions: Currently, we have achieved close to 4,500 pre-launch shopper signups on our waitlist. We have a team of 10+ interns who are helping out for free because they believe in the missions of helping local shops to survive. This month, we're also getting onboard 8 door-to-door salespeople, whose salary is paid for by government grants. We're close to our successful London launch in June, which we expect to have around 5000+ shoppers and 1000+ shops. The marketplace product has been built in its entirety by a Python powerhouse with an outsourced dev team of 7 people, with continual two-week iterations. Everything is documented in extreme details on Confluence/Jira. Our tech stack is Python / Django / React / AWS / Stripe etc. We're looking for a CTO to join us to continue improving the marketplace product from user feedback and engineer the lending product from scratch with us. I'm the solo founder of this project so far. This is my 4th full-time company. I've taken the profits I make from my other companies to invest my everything in this project, so the project has been entirely bootstrapped. After our successful launch, we'll fundraise for our first external capital in end-June. While I haven't started the fundraising round formally, the round has already been filled with almost $100K from committed investors already. However, I believe our biggest investor is our customers, so I am obsessively focused on the shops/shoppers at the moment. Now that we'll soon be successfully launching in London with the first initial traction numbers, I believe it's the right time to get more talented co-founders on board to grow and scale this project. Looking for: In an ideal world, it'd be great if you: have full-stack experience. I'm looking for someone who's very comfortable solving extremely complicated problems, enjoy such journeys and ideally have had experience doing so. The product may look and sound simple (as most elegant solutions always do), but behind the simple front are fairly complicated and challenging, which I could explain further to you when we speak. You don't need to be good at designs, being more of a back-end person is okay, you just need to know some front-end stuff, because we have 2 UI/UX design interns working for us who takes care of it. I'm also a good designer myself. are very comfortable with our current tech stack (Python/Django/React/AWS etc.). Experience in building technology in the financial sector/fintech product is a plus. are obsessed with users and user experience (as we do), with a can-do, move-fast attitude. The motto of our team is Speed is better than Perfect, and I hope you have the same mindset. Remote is OK at the beginning, but it does help a little if you're based in London or Europe because all our shops and shoppers are London-based at the moment. Gotta stay close to the users! Compensation: Since we already have some funding committed, it's likely we can pay you a salary + equity, so it's not a pure sweat equity role. So far I've been the solo founder on this project and been the sole product owner. I am looking for a co-founder CTO, someone who could solve extremely complicated technical problems, brainstorm, build and iterate the product vision together with me, the team and the users. If you are interested in the project but not entirely sure how to contribute, get in touch anyway! As long as you're passionate about helping small, local SMEs, we will be able to find a solution. submitted by /u/Lequynhmai [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/nqp6c5/gbrbiz7_marketplace_fintech_project_with_traction/
