Team We are a team of two. One cofounder has hired/managed over 100 teachers responsible for the learning of about 4K students and written a lot of curriculum. I have built sales teams at multiple EdTech startups up to 300 sales reps and $42M in ARR. Raised money for them and had an exit. Startup We acquired a 30-year-old brick and mortar business in a niche space for their middle school student customers, proprietary curriculum and ability to build out their digital platform to a broader, national audience. The curriculum has been improved and digitized, website has been redesigned and we had an agency shoot a high-quality commercial as well. We are enrolling students but not in the volume needed. The brand is struggling to gain customer’s trust/traction and reach beyond its original geographical footprint despite investments in paid search and site redesigns. You What we’re looking for is someone who is as enthusiastic about the EdTech revolution as we are and wants to make a big dent in the world with amazing brand(s), courses/products for students. This niche brand and opportunity is just a starting point for our experienced team. We aspire to build and grow lots of products in the EdTech space. You’re someone who is familiar with startups like Outschool and/or the upskilling market for adults. You might also be familiar with and interested in the Unschool movement. You’re a senior marketing leader but would like to get in as a co-founder and build something lasting/meaningful with a fun seasoned team. Requirements -5 Years in a VP/CMO Marketing/Growth leadership role -Demonstrable experience creating b2c brands in US market, preferably in EdTech -Have worked in performance marketing environment driving leads -Held monthly lead volume targets by channel -Created strategies and teams to drive leads at TOFU and BOFU -Have sold b2c products in the $1-3k ACV -Keen eye for branding and design -Fluent English Speaker The Job You’re probably working full time at the moment but have schedule flexibility to take this on as a side project until the marketing takes off and the business can support your comp. Our priority #1 is for you to take our current funnel and optimize it for many more leads going to sales to close. Manage SEM budget and improve form conversion. Work with designer/developer on revisions/improvements to the landing page. Think about the long-term seo/content strategy and the tactics to deploy. Equity You’re someone who is senior enough to know the only way to really test whether this works is to start working together. You also want meaningful equity and are also ready to quit your job and work full time when the business can support your comp package full-time. Ultimately, we’re really looking for someone who wants to do their best creative work and see all the upside rewards come to fruition in the form of early cofounder equity.
