Hello everyone – quick background about me and my journey: I get the sense I’m older than most of the posters I see on this sub. At 51, I have plenty of energy left in me but am running quite short on passion. I’ve spent a vast portion my nearly 30-year career either directly or indirectly in financial services. I started as a computer programmer, but broadened into networking, and then project, functional, and executive management. And even strategic technology sales which is what I’ve been doing for the last 13 years. I had no entrepreneurship mentoring when I was young. “Work hard for someone else” was the long-standing tradition of my family. But for at least the last 15 years, I’ve wanted to make the jump to doing something on my own. The typical set of excuses always seemed to hold me back: raising kids, college tuition expenses, risk, lack of an idea, lack of capital, not a big network with connections to obvious co-founders, no sense of a real passion, etc. I’d love to find a co-founder and accomplish great things! To make a splash, an impact, positive change, jobs for people, and yes--profit, would be a dream come true. I just don’t know where to go or what to do. I’m familiar with and have been involved in networking groups, business startup workshops, co-founder matching services, and local resources. Is anyone in a similar situation? Want to talk about it or brainstorm? I’m game. submitted by /u/JPInMontana [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/o21cks/usamgmt30_more_than_ready_to_make_the_jump/
