Short Intro: Wristruments is the worlds first and only smartwatch app for guitar and other instruments. We’re using patented smartwatch augmented reality to create hands-on learning that is more fast-paced and engaging than using a phone/tablet/laptop to learn. You can learn more at our website (company name), or by googling ‘Wristruments’ which will turn up a good amount of info. HIGHLIGHTS TO-DATE Published V1 for WatchOS (Guitar) Published V1 for WearOS (Guitar) Ukulele, Bass Guitar, Piano Apps in Beta Patent on underlying technology All-in-one phone/watch hybrid version w/ more features in Beta $20k in subscription pre-sales (430+ paying customers) 3500+ downloads (no ads) International press (Wired, TechMash, Engadget, etc.) Multiple institutions in sales pipeline TEAM My co-founder and I are both entrepreneurs at heart and have built our own companies in the past. We’re technical enough that we’ve been able to develop the apps until now, but neither of us come from a software engineering background. I (Joe) am an inventor/marketer and have done considerable consulting for other businesses in the past (startup to publicly traded). Connor comes from a media production/entertainment background, and started a video production company that made it all the way to the Grammys. IDEAL CO-FOUNDER Our V1 is released and we have our initial customer base, so our focus now is to finish up the full version of the app so we can begin really selling it. We're now looking to bring on a third cofounder with a stronger software development background. This person will take our existing codebase (developed in SwiftUI and AndroidWear), and work on the scope we’ve created, but should also have enough knowledge to make higher-level decisions regarding the tech as needed (basically a self-starter/co-founder rather than a task by task dev). The full-functionality and development of Wristruments is 65-70% complete. SCALABILITY Wristruments is really just the tip of the iceberg. Our first apps for musical instruments validated this tech as a a legitimate improvement/enhancement to learning from your phone or laptop or tablet. The hands-on experience is really magical. We also have a patent on the tech that makes it possible - Smartwatch screen rotation and alternate screen positions. We plan on expanding to new markets aggressively using the same Wristruments model, and have been testing apps for other hands-on activities with the same success as musical instruments. Thank you for taking the time to read this far. I am happy to answer any questions and provide more info upon interest. Look forward to meeting you! :) Joe submitted by /u/Joecorcoran [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/ob3e2u/usatech8_music_education_startup_with_paying/
