About me: Software engineer at leading autonomous vehicle startup. Have previous software engineering experience as well at companies such as Meta, Coinbase, and Amazon. About you: Deep technical experience, preferably with AV. Proficient in low level programming skills. Have ability to lead engineering teams, designs, and have intuition for hiring great engineers. Problem: Shortage of 80,000 truck drivers. Solution: Create a robust teleoperation startup that allows trucks to be controlled remotely. Impact: Trucks can operate 24 hours a day (3 * 8 hour shifts), truckers can go home to their families despite driving long haul, drivers can automatically switch to other trucks if current truck is hung up in inspection/depot, cool stuff like convoying (where multiple trucks follow each other on highway) is possible. North Star: Sell retrofitted trucks to carriers and create subscription to allow them to be controlled remotely. Lease system to other AV startups that need teleoperation. Collect a shit load of data that can be used to create insurance solutions, train self driving car algorithms, and more. submitted by /u/magnusflare [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/cofounder/comments/u2j8k1/usatech2_seeking_technical_cofounder_for/
