The app in a nutshell
Manage your workout program like a pro. Our app lets you create a periodized training program using phases. Users can see their progress at a glance, track workouts, and adjust their plan over time. Users can also follow a more freestyle program if they aren’t interested in periodization.
This app is designed for weightlifters, bodybuilders, powerlifters, strength athletes, and fitness enthusiasts.
Why we’re building it
We were frustrated with the lack of certain features in current workout apps, namely a way to manage periodization, schedule, and progression (both progressive overload and exercise progression as in calisthenics). This app is an attempt to fill that gap in the market.
Where the app is now
We are currently working on the MVP. We have most of the base functionality built in, but are working on updating the phase / calendar function and cleaning up the ux.
Current Traction
Right now, we have had 80+ sign ups for the prototype (a no-code version of the app with limited functionality). We’ve conducted many user interviews and I’ve also discussed this with some peers in the fitness industry and they are very excited about the potential of the app.
Monetization
The plan is to be a Freemium model. There will be basic features available for free, and “Pro” features available for a subscription of $5-$10.
Why is this different to other workout trackers
The biggest difference is the training phase calendar. Unlike other apps, users can create a program and plan out phases, schedule weekly targets, and put progressions into workouts. Other apps either provide premade programs only, or let you create workouts without the ability to plan out a program. (There are also a lot of AI apps which we are not doing)
We want to create an app that will allow someone to manage their fitness program like a pro. But they don’t have to be a pro to use it. There will also be premade program templates created by pros that users can add to their library.
The Team
I have 8+ years of industry knowledge and experience in fitness. As an independent trainer I have experience with marketing and sales. I also have 3 years of operations and business management experience from my time managing a local fitness company.
My other co-founder is a developer with 9+ years experience in full stack development.
We are looking for another technical cofounder to help.
Who we’re looking for
- A developer who is experienced in firebase and react native.
- Someone who is interested in equity. We cannot currently pay a salary until the app is generating revenue.
- Ideally, you are into fitness. This is not required, but having an understanding of fitness and training programs will be beneficial.
If you are interested, please send me a DM with some info about yourself, and any questions you may have.
