Hello fellow co-founders! My name is Andrew. I am looking for a technical co-founder for a new FSM, field service management tool, to break into, and overtake, the home services software industry.
My current goal is to make YCombinator. The last time I applied I scored an interview based on nothing more than a premise. With the considerable success I have had in the home services industry, I am more than confident of my chances of winning a coveted slot. The reason I did not get into YC? My plan was for a travel app - right before the pandemic hit. Alternatively if we do not make it into YC, I have no problem self funding.
The problem:
The current landscape of software solutions for blue collar business owners in the home services sector presents an undue complexity that hinders business growth and operation. Which I've broken down into 5 major problems.
1- User Experience (UX) & Onboarding:
The prevalent software offerings in the market have intricate user interfaces. For individuals starting in the home services domain, the onboarding and setup processes are daunting.
2) Pricing:
The current pricing model for startups, often ranging from $169-$250 per month, is ludicrous. A more competitive pricing structure is essential for encouraging entrepreneurship for blue collar business owners
3) Marketing Integration:
Present platforms lack integrated marketing and re-marketing tools. Our solution encompasses FSM + CRM capabilities and supports SMS marketing, email campaigns, postcards, and voicemail drops, making it a one-stop-shop for all their needs.
4) Lacking Features:
Features we can talk about all day, but we won't do that. One of the most important features missing from all of them is offline mode + many more.
5) Business Health Metrics:
The ability to have a clear view of vital business metrics (like CAC, LTV, COGS, Repeat customers, etc...) is conspicuously absent in the current solutions. Our platform will provide comprehensive insights, allowing businesses to make informed decisions and strategies.
Teck stack:
As for the tech stack, the web app is Next, and Prisma w/ PostgreSQL for backend most likely. Swift/UIKit (which I'll be doing) for iOS, and Kotlin for Android. I've considered Flutter and React Native, but the mobile apps must be fully offline capable, so if you have a solution, we can discuss.
My community:
I have established a community on YouTube dedicated to assisting individuals in breaking into the home services industry. This audience greatly respects my insights, eagerly anticipating the software I discuss in each video. Over the past nine months, I've amassed 4,000 engaged YouTube subscribers and built a community of over 1,200 members on my Discord channel. While the numbers may appear modest, the engagement is incredible, with hundreds ready to invest in the software as part of our initial beta launch. Additionally, I manage an active Facebook group for home services business owners, boasting 3,000 members.
Here are a few quick facts about me:
- Raised 2 million for my last two projects before pivoting to FSM (many learnings lessons over the last 6 years).
- Built a junk removal business empire with over one million in gross sales last year (on track to exceed that this year). Currently under contract for selling the business to focus full time on this project.
- A successful Discord and Youtube channel with thousands of members dedicated to helping people build a home service business.
- Hundreds of subscribers/fans patiently awaiting my software launch and ready to pay.
- Experienced iOS programmer.
What I'm looking for:
I'm open to collaborating with multiple co-founders if the synergy aligns. I'm in search of individuals with exceptional proficiency in Next / React, Kotlin, and/or Swift. Ideally, I'd like to onboard a co-founder dedicated to each platform.
If you are ready to step up, take a chance with phenomenal potential and join a person with documented business acumen, message me, and let's chat!
