Nvidia confirms RTX 5070 Ti launch for February 20th

When will you be able to buy a new Nvidia graphics card? Hell if I know, the retailers seem to be pretty clueless themselves. But if you’re asking when, specifically, you might get a chance to get your hands on the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti? The answer is “next Thursday.”

Nvidia confirmed the release date in a new social media post, which follows up a few initial leaks indicating the same thing. The 5070 Ti will cost $750 for the base card (plus whatever markup the OEMs and retailers pile on), which is $250 less than the 5080 and $200 more than the 5070, which still doesn’t have a precise release date.

The 5070 Ti is packing 16GB of GDDR7 memory, or 4GB more than the non-Ti version. The expanded memory bandwidth (896 GB/s versus 672), and nearly 50 percent more AI TOPS, might be a deciding factor in whether you want to go for the Ti or wait for the more affordable option.

If you actually want to buy one, maybe invest in a cheap camping tent first. The 5080 and 5090 both sold out worldwide almost immediately upon release and are predictably targets for both scalpers and scammers. Unlike those cards, the 5070 Ti doesn’t have a Founder’s Edition from Nvidia, so you can expect at least some higher prices from OEM manufacturers. And that’s before tariffs and low stock nudge the prices even higher.

If you’re wondering about some competition, AMD’s new Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT (expected to compete with the 5070 and 5070 Ti) are scheduled to launch early next month.
