Paramount's earnings were rough. They swung to a net loss of $299 million compared to a profit last year. Ouch.
The main culprit? Investing tons of cash into streaming content for Paramount+ while revenue dropped in other areas like movies. Double ouch.
But hey, at least streaming subs are way up to 61 million. And adjusted earnings were still slightly in the black at $80 million.
As for debt, it ticked up to $15.8 billion. Not ideal but
HIMS had a strong Q2. Despite no moat, they may have built a better or at least sexier mousetrap. Strong membership retention/growth and revenue growth. They anticipate 1B+ in revenue by 2025 and currently have a $1B market cap. They have no debt and have a strong runway given their cash equivalents. Anybody hold them or have opposing view?
Pltr earnings were in line with estimates and they raised guidance on unprecedented demand for AI. Growth continues and the company said they will repurchase up to a billion dollars in shares.
Overall this results look about as good as could have been anticipated, now the big question is will there actually be an unprecedented demand for ai or is this a jump on pure hype?

Will I end up with a short position in my portfolio that I will never be able to close?
As far as I understand I should not because if the company ceases to exist, is delisted from the exchange then no shares exist anymore(?). I couldn't be short of something that doesn't exist anymore. I would assume the broker would forcefully close my position (credit the shares*sp from my account). But these are just assumptions I am making, can't find a d

Hello. I know that no one can answer this question for sure, as we don't have a crystall ball. But I have some spare cash which I don't want to keep in the bank account. However I've heard that now is not a good time to invest into stock market. So I'd love to hear some educated (and speculating!) opinions from someone more knowledgable.
Just like the title says. We put almost all of our extra cash into some form of investment and retirement accounts. Some unexpected expenses have popped up. My wife and I have five different retirement accounts: two 403bs, two Roth’s and a taxable account. We are both teachers, so we also get decent pensions.
One of the Roths we treat like an emergency fund. We just throw any extra money in there so we won’t “find a reason to spend it.”
We need s
Hey I’ll keep this short just cause all I want to know is if somebody else has seen this. I find yahoo finance data to be wrong sometimes. For example, I was looking at FTNT and it’s cash flow statement and I found the TTM value to be completely different than if you added each quarters cash flow together. I feel like I have seen the same thing before and was wondering if you guys have since it’s a pretty major problem if it’s true. Let me know
