Tax Rules for International Stocks on NYSE

Can someone help me understand tax rules for owning stocks of companies listed on NYSE that have their headquarters abroad? For example, Alibaba (BABA) on NYSE and this Korean bank (NYSE: KB).

Are capital gains/dividends taxed differently? Do I submit taxes to the foreign government or to the US? I don't want to file income to other countries... (Technically I can't earn income in Korea until I do compulsory military service)

Ban of naked short selling in the 17th century

I found this website that talks about the world's first stock exchange and they say that naked short selling was a thing in the 17th century... https://www.worldsfirststockexchange.com/2020/11/27/going-short-in-1608/

I find it hard to believe since shares were physical back then so You couldn't create them out of thin air. They say that This contract written in

Betting Against

Total newb here, but I had a question that won’t leave me head until I ask:

As I understand it, you can “bet on” a certain company by buying stock in that company with the expectation that later, the stock value will rise and you can sell, pocketing the difference.

So, is there a way to “bet against” a company? Is there a way you can make a profit by expecting the stock price of a company to fall instead of rising? If so, what is that process calle

Do I have to sell my stock??

Hello all!

A couple years ago, I purchased stock in CHICOS (women’s clothing store) for $2.40 per share. The company was recently acquired by a private firm for 1 Billion dollars and will no longer be a publicly traded company (I think). Overnight, the stock has shot up to over $7.50 per share. Do I need to sell this stock due to the acquisition?

As everyone struggles with macro outlook, Nvidia simply gets even more pricing power. Everyone should have this as their largest holding. Over a 3year basis, hard to see this not going above $1k

McDonald (MCD) DCF Analysis

NOTE ALL PERSONAL OPINION, NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE

INTRODUCTION:

MCD's golden arches are famous worldwide, it's precisely this strong goodwill that allows their business to remain attractive to franchisees for so long. The consistent quality of each MCD store regardless of where it is on earth, the large cost advantage due to how large the franchise has become and Quality of franchisee give MCD strong cash flows. However, M

Time to buy more Rivian?

Or dump what I have? Holding only 100 shares with a buy in around $30 so I'm not losing my house or anything. Thinking this may be a good time to average down. They have a ton of cash and they are raising more today, maybe they are preparing to expand? Or do they foresee losses and they're getting ready to cover? I bought them because I just really like the trucks. I drove a friend's and man it's just an amazing vehicle.

How can an asset allocation be negative

I'm pretty new to investing, and I'm trying to get a better grasp on what things mean. In this case, I'd like to know how and why the "short-term" assest on one of my Fidelity accounts is -1%? Also, how can an asset be at 101% ("bonds" in this case)?

If it helps, this account is invested solely in FTBFX.
